Day-1 Food Relief: Seguku
On Monday we reached out to different people in Seguku. Our country offices in Uganda are based in Seguku- Wakiso district. In this area, there are a number of vulnerable people like the widows, disabled, and the elderly among others.
There are also groups of people who were working but their work was heavily affected by the Covid pandemic and the different lockdowns that the President put up in order to curb the spread of the virus. Some of these include bodaboda riders, teachers among others.
All combined, we were able to reach out to 250 residents of Seguku Parish. Some of the vulnerable people and the workers whose work was interrupted by the pandemic came to the food distribution centers and they were able to take food relief to their families.
