Standing in Kigali, Rwanda, a nation whose history reminds the world both of the depths of human brokenness and the incredible power of reconciliation, we are deeply inspired.
More than three decades after the tragedy of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Rwanda has become a global testimony that healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation are possible when communities choose peace over division.
This week, our team leader is attending a reconciliation workshop in Kigali, learning, listening and building partnerships with other peacebuilders from around the world. These conversations are not just about remembering the past; they are about shaping a more peaceful future for our communities today.
At Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation Uganda, we share this same calling. Across Uganda, we are working with youth, women, community leaders, refugees, and faith groups to promote healing, dialogue, peacebuilding, and conflict transformation. Through training, reconciliation retreats, and community engagement, we are helping restore relationships, strengthen communities, and raise a generation that chooses peace.
In a world still marked by conflict, division, and misunderstanding, the message of reconciliation is more urgent than ever. Peace is not only the absence of war—it is the presence of justice, healing, and restored relationships.
We believe transformed hearts can transform nations.
